Katabasis (Collaboration with Ronin de Goede)

Going or marching down, descending to the underworld, to the depths of our psyche. That is a journey we undertook together with Ronin with this very collaboration. Originating from Greek mythology, katabasis is often understood as entering Hell – an intensive endurance of torture and heartbreak while returning stronger and wiser in the aftermath.

Our working process with Ronin was based on complete immersion and trust, there were no distractions or doubts. Every shoot was ruled by instinct and spontaneity, there was zero logic or pragmatic thinking. I entered his realm, he entered mine…
